    La Bonne Femme

  6. Beautiful! Macarons and Photography—two of my favorite things! So jealous you went to Laudree.

  7. That's wonderful, Tina. I would love to be included in the giveaway. I must go now as I am in shock at Giulia the Gattina's behavior. She was just discovered with tissue paper shreds on her ear-tips. The damages: four boxes of (expensive) recycled tissue, opened, & shredded. She has been banished to her cat cottage. She has appealed to you & others (as supporters) to appeal her sentence. I told her Coco & Kali would never do such a thing. Back me up on this, even if it's not true.

    ciao bella

  18. Oui, oui, s'il vous plait!

The best macarons I've ever had were in Toulouse, and since I can't get over to France nearly as much as I'd like, these would be a very welcome reminder of my trip there.

  19. When I came home from studying abroad in Paris for six months, I brought my parents a box of macarons (though they were from Gerard Mulot). I adore Laduree though! And all macarons!

  20. You devil/darling, you! {I'm drooling at the keys as I type}: Hope you've enjoyed your travels abroad, lovely.

  21. Mmm, how tempting, Aunt Tina! I would really love to be entered into this delicious raffle. Hopefully it is not my only chance to have a taste of Paris… ah, to dream.

    Much love,

  22. Wow! Your pictures from Paris inspired me! Two summers ago I was there seeing it all for the first time. I think I had the perfect lemon tart there, but never the perfect macaron!

  23. I am so IN!

By the way, I'm going to Paris again in a couple of months and was wondering if you've thought about a blog post about your favourite places/tips for travellers. I've visited lots of places on my previous trips, but it would be nice to have your opinion :)

  24. i'm really happy you enjoyed your trip. I was in Paris once for one day and it rained all the time so i think i didn't see the biggest beauty of the city. Waiting for more posts : )

  36. Ohhh, yes… yes please! I've never been to Paris. Only vicariously through movies, photos, and your last few blog entries. What a lucky girl you are!

If those macarons are sent my way, I will die a happy lady. Laduree is, how you say, the beesknees. I would even happily exchange them for a pretty little original drawing.

  37. My birthday is in a week, & these would LITERALLY BE THE BEST GIFT EVER!

i've been having sweet, colorful macaron dreams lately. I'm pretty sure that they want me too :)

  38. The problem with Laduree macarons is that they are so divinely beautiful, you feel the tiniest bit guilty eating them! Have a safe trip home.

  39. Oh what a lovely giveaway!

I have never tried a laduree macaroon but cannot express how much I would love to gobble them all up!! I would have to take a zillion photos of them first though!

  40. That is so sweet of you. They look so yummy! I made my own last week but I would love to try the "real" thing.

  41. oh how amazing! i would loooove to have some macarons from laduree! my mom and aunt were in paris this past spring and tried to bring back some laduree macarons for my birthday but were asked to leave after trying to take pictures inside the store!

  43. You're so lucky–the pictures are so dreamy!~ I almost made it to Paris a few years ago but couldn't go b/c of my boss. You've inspired me to put it back on my radar~

  58. ahhh! i love macarons, on my last trip to paris i wasn't able to make it into one of the Ladurée shops to get any and had to wait until i was at the airport…i ended up eating all (6) at once before i even boarded my flight!

your pictures are beautiful, makes me want to go back right away!

ps there was a comment above about not finding macarons in Toronto, there is a café called Nadege that they can go to on queen st w. hopefully they read this.

  59. I've seen so many posts and photos about these, I'm dying to try one! (or a whole box) They're so beautiful.

  60. I have been enjoying your blog in my bloglines list. It's great to see and read all the nifty information and happenings that you have posted.

I have been stalking macarons for awhile now, wishing that there was a place in town that made them. I have begged our local bakery to make me some. The colors and the friendly look just appeal to me. I love cupcakes and these would be an upgrade to cupcakes. lol :) xoxox

  61. They look so delicious, have never tasted them.. and never been to Paris. I looked so lovely in your posts!

  62. Ah, those fabulous treats… and the elegant setting that is Laduree. Having experienced them before, I will defer my chance at receiving the macaroons in favor of someone who needs to savor them for the first time.

But to vicariously visit Laduree and see recipes of some of their other famous creations (surely the one for the macaroons must be a state secret), treat yourself to a little tour through Linda Dannenberg's book, "Paris Patisserie Boulangerie: Recipes from Thirteen Outstanding Parisian Bakeries" (Clarkson Potter, NY 1994). The fabulous photography puts you right in the setting and makes your mouth water, and the recipes are to dine for!!

  63. Today is my lucky day! I just found a gold wedding band on the sidewalk in front of Laduree!
I will gladly give it to you for just one of those macarons.

  64. I would love to win, like everyone here. :) Maybe it will be my turn to win, maybe not. No matter, delight in throwing my ring in! :)

Mary Ann in Tennessee (aka Joy)

  67. I have been wanting to go to Paris since I could talk…sadly I probably wont ever get a chance to see it physically but so thankful for your post of pictures :) btw those colors are amazing! I wonder what they taste like….

  68. I'd love to taste those macaroons I've read soo much about. . . your blog is absolutely beautiful. One word of heartfelt advice. . . let go of the angst over your old job. Don't let one institution, one person, one group of people define who you are or what you can be. I've been there. I know.

  69. @maria s:

I think I've been able to let it go, most of it anyway. this trip really helped me to do that…

  70. my ex took me to maison laduree on our first date (we met in paris). He was too cheap to buy anything, and we ended up just having coffee… these look AMAZING. I remember I was blown away by Maison Laduree.

  71. I learned to love macarons in Paris and since I've been back in the States, I have yet to find a decent one. Ah, I miss them! These would be so nice to receive!

  72. Ma Ma Ma Macaroons!

Por favor, I weep every night for the lack of macaroons in the small Spanish city that I live in.

    MMM, que bonito!

  73. i have never had a macaroon and I'm dying to try them. What better wayt to start than with Lauderee!
    They look so delicious!

  74. I've lived in Paris a few times and visited many more, but my last visit was ages ago and I'm dying for a real macaron!

  75. They are so beautiful! Thank you for your posts from Paris, they have completely inspired me to return, I went there in 08 with my 9 year old daughter and we walked Paris, it was the most magical trip ever for both of us, the Louvre at night, night time fair ground rides and picnics by the Seine. Your photos evoked such memories, so we are planning to go again this summer and are even looking into staying at your beautiful little apartment! So thank you sooo much again. xxxxxx

  76. I would LOVE to win the macaroons! They look scrumptious! I love your posts on Paris. I especially love My Little Paris Apartment. So charming! :)

  77. I have dreamt about those macarons for over a year now! But I'm not in Paris so please make my dream come true!

  78. I am in need of a bit of Paris, and since I cannot jump on a plane, the macaroons will do famously!

  79. Ahh, pick me! I've never had a macaron… in fact, before reading lovely blogs such as this one, I had never even heard of them. Now, they seem rather emblematic of the type of blog I love most….
And besides, they seem so much more lovely and indulgent than boring ol' macaroons.

  80. Perhaps this is a bit off topic but in any case, I have been surfing about your site and it looks rlaley neat. impassioned about your writing.
