Morning guys. How was everyone’s weekend? Here in SA we are midway through a long weekend. It is wonderful. In my first post here on English Muse I shared an Autumn inspired palette with you. It has gradually been getting colder here, but I know that most of you are steadily marching through Spring and cannot wait for Summer. So, as requested, today I will be sharing a funky neon palette with you- perfect for the warmer weather.

Various shades of pink are at the heart of this palette. From soft pastel to a richer Magenta. Pinks can easily become sugary and a tad too girly for the man in your life. Keep it funky and current by adding a touch of neon to the mix.

Every time I spend few minutes reading through interior blogs or surfing Pinterest I am overwhelmed by the amount of pastel/neon combination shots that are doing the rounds. This combo seems to be super popular in Europe. What about in the States? Have you guys been seening it around?

Neon is no longer banished to the rave or hard core punk scene, it is actually becoming increasingly feminine. The trick is to keep the neon element to a minimum. You simply want a touch of neon, to bring the overall look to life.

This palette has many fun applications- it can used in a baby-, toddler, teenage or adult bedroom. It just depends how you combine the shades. Keep it softer for a more feminine look. The more neon, the edgier the scheme. Make sure to use plenty of white though. A strong scheme such as this one requires a good foundation. White walls and light flooring would be an ideal starting point. Incorporate colours in soft furnishings, accessories, art and lighting.

I would definitely use this in a teenage girls’ bedroom. What do you think? Fad or fabulous? Look at these examples I found on the Decor8 blog.
