Hello English Muse readers! Karen from A Simple Cup of Tea once again. This week I’m talking about spring. I can’t be the only one happy to be done with April, can I?

I love spring. There is something of a promise in the season. The promise of better weather, more daylight, everyone is in a better mood. Of course in Belgium the temperatures are more winter-like, it rains a lot and it still gets dark too quickly to my taste.

But the promise is there.

So today is a bit of an excercise in thankfulness for me. These are the things I’m thankful for:

  • A nice cup of tea after a long day of working for school
  • Friends who can listen to your exciting and less exciting tales
  • A brilliant song. Currently I’m loving Jan Swerts’ album Weg (it’s available on Spotify)
  • The promise of new days and new adventures

Your turn. What are you thankful for? What are you looking forward to in May?

  1. My daughter and my daughter in law, both celebrate birthdays in May. One on the 2nd and one on the 3rd.. so this is what makes May special to us.
While we live in Argentina, it is also the beginning of Autumn, I am still confused by this but it is nice to be out of the heat and see some fall colors.
    Happy May to you ~

I am thankful for tea, too. Very very thankful. I am also thankful for the fact that I am able to read and write. Literacy is a gift that we all take for granted.

I hadn’t even thought about including that on my list but it’s very true. I love to read, have done so ever since I learned.

  3. Karolin says:

I’m thankful for all the cherry blossoms and, my lovely dogs and for life itself.
