Hello my dears, Happy Tuesday afternoon. It’s so nice to be posting here at 3:37 p.m. on my own schedule — away from the 9 – 5 work grind. I’ve been getting a little R&R — long naps, long walks, long baths, making delicious salads for lunch, savoring magazines. I have been working a bit, too, on a new blog which I hope to debut soon. I’m doing this one on WordPress.org, which is definitely outside the comfortable ease that I feel on Blogger.

It’s exciting though. I think I’ve finally settled on a header (which is the most important part, right?). I’m so thankful for these blogging platforms. It’s the democratization of publishing (and design). You don’t need a printing press to believe that what you say matters.

Can’t wait to show you! Maybe next week. Also, I’m working a new blogroll for The English Muse. Please email me if you want to be included. Email me anyway. I’d love to hear from you. Here: englishmuse (at) yahoo (dot) com.

xoxoxo

  1. T! That's so exciting!! I can't wait to feast my eyes on this new work…it's a collaboration with Daydream Lily? I think I read that on your profile somewhere…? I hope you're doing well…Oh, I sent you an email yesterday about changing the artist's last name {it's Hirik, not Kirik}- when you get a chance, thanks so much. I LOVE her…she's an amazing talent and spirit.

  2. Dearest Tina –
It's nice to hear you're giving yourself alot of 'you' time. Can't wait to see the new blog :)

  3. hey Tina,

that all sounds like the best medicine. i'm looking forward to seeing the fruits of your new independent labour.

  5. Hey English Muse! I need to set up a new header as well for my blog but I don't know how to change from the standard blogger title and subtitle to my own horizontal header. Any tips?

Enjoy the special "me" time. xxx LZ

  6. This photo is amazing and your r&r sounds lovely.

Just days before I read about your leaving the Times, I was informed that I wouldn't have a teaching position at Cal State Northridge in the Spring. The worst part is that our paychecks were already cut this fall but we're being "asked" to do the same workload as before. Now it's almost impossible to keep my moral up while I get through this last semester there.

  7. I'm excited to see your new blog Tina!! Really glad to know you're taking time.. It's the best medicine!!

    I'll follow you anywhere!!

    Have a super day!!

    xo, Penney

  10. Hello Tina! I'm just catching up from a long absence from the English Muse. I had a laptop change over and am finally re-discovering lost bookmarks. Happy to be back! I hope you are doing well. Looking forward to your new wordpress project. That's my blog server and I've really like it. Have a lovely weekend!
