Australian poet and potter Kylie Johnson fashions bowls and trays out of clay and then imprints them with sentiments so achingly beautiful that mere words on paper could never compare. She finds a way to capture, so simply, all that is lovely and true. This tray (above) that she did for Anthropologie is especially affecting.

Anthropologie is currently stocking several of her pieces. She also has an online store, called Paper Boat Press.

Her blog is called Instinct and Grace.

  1. Fullof Grace indeed. Adorably so… I like the way her lines aren’t aligned.

If I was a Designer I would invest in this field. I Love to find a mug with a poem, a quote…

    Thank you for sharing!

  2. I just discovered her work a few weeks ago and love it SO much. I’d like to get my hands on one of her books of poetry, but have yet to do so. The little bits I’ve read are enchanting.

  3. Very beautiful. This will be a perfect gift for someone who is whimsical and has a lyrical soul.

By the way, thank you for adding me to your blog roll. I think that is so sweet. It warmed my heart.

  4. There are not many things that do not combine with poetry, and it’s so nice to have bits and pieces of it all over your house! I’ve had a pillow case with a poem on it for years and it still makes me happy!
